Trauma - Informed Accounting Services

We provide education and services at the intersection of trauma and finance to produce a more equitable economy.

What We Do

Think legal aid, but for accounting issues: taxes, of course, but also notices from those taxing agencies. Currently the error rate of tax notices is over 70% and the IRS estimated one in 10 taxpayers received a notice in 2025. That IRS estimate doesn’t include notices from state agencies which have a similar error rate. CPA services are financially out of reach for those most affected by this unabashed bullying and that’s where we come in.

We also provide bookkeeping services to select small businesses and nonprofit organizations, and we extend our 501c3 umbrella to mutual aid projects and emerging world builders.

Our Values

  • “We do not live single issue lives” –Audre Lorde. Ableism, coupled with white supremacy, supported by capitalism, underscored by heteropatriarchy, has rendered the vast majority of the world “invalid.”

  • “We are led by those who most know these systems.” –Aurora Levins Morales

  • In an economy that sees land and humans as components of profit, we are anti-capitalist by the nature of having non-conforming body/minds.

  • Shifting how social justice movements understand disability and contextualize ableism, disability justice lends itself to politics of alliance.

  • People have inherent worth outside of commodity relations and capitalist notions of productivity. Each person is full of history and life experience.

  • We pace ourselves, individually and collectively, to be sustained long term. Our embodied experiences guide us toward ongoing justice and liberation.

  • We honor the insights and participation of all  our community members, knowing that isolation undermines collective liberation.

  • We meet each others’ needs as we build toward liberation, knowing that state solutions inevitably extend into further control over lives.

  • As brown, black and queer-bodied disabled people we bring flexibility and creative nuance that go beyond able-bodied/minded normativity, to be in community with each other.

  • No body or mind can be left behind – only moving together can we accomplish the revolution we require.

Land & Labor Recognition

We acknowledge that much of our work takes place on the territory and ancestral lands of the Kalapuya people. We also acknowledge our debt to enslaved people whose labor and suffering built and grew the economy and infrastructure of a nation that refuses to acknowledge this history of dehumanization and enslavement. We are inviting you to take a moment to reflect on whose land you are living and working and if you do not know, to research and reflect. Learn more about the native lands you reside on.
